Both of them had their yearly check ups, which as I said is a very expensive joke in comparison to what you all are having done with your dogs. The vet I was using was of course just stealing money from me at my and my dogs expense.

I will be trying new Vets till I can find one I can trust again.

Thanks for your comments.

I think it is all in what you expect from a vet which will vary by owner. Please don't see those ultra low prices listed as normal.
They may be normal in a few areas, but not most. The first thing Iask myself when seeing an owner pay next to nothing regularly is, "What is the vet leaving out?".

Sure, surgery can be done cheap, but I'd have to wonder...are IV fluids not geing given? Gas anesthesia not heing used? Monitoring not being done? No dedicated person to focus Only on your pup's vials while under?

Hospitals without xray or those who haven't upgraded to digital xray will be cheaper..but not better for the pet. I think onsite u/s is very important. Dental xray is necessary if we are going to start pulling teeth. Most places don't have it. I prefer endoscopy on site also.

So it has to do with location, but also the standard of care that each owner expects. If they get great pricing and have done research, great! I know at some of these prices given my vet would not have a paycheck at the end of the week.
