This pretty much how we do it. I measure out the food in the morning and then put 1/3 in her bowl , I leave the bowl there and then added the next 3rd in the afternoon and the last to it in the evening. I don't take away the morning food if she doesn't finish , but if she does I don't give more until next feeding
