Yes, they would probably still treat almost the same BUT sometimes pancreatitis is so severe in these little ones that IV fluids and hospitalization is necessary. You might want to read the following thread. It gets into a discussion about pancreatitis and it's dangers. I didn't do the blood work because I was going by the order of priority that the vet recommended and she first recommended the xray. I could have done the blood work as well and paid the full $600 in diagnostic work. But once she saw the tummy was distended, she treated with success.
He was okay by the next evening. I'll never know what made him so sick though. My husband said he gave him a couple of cheerios which I bought to use as treats for training as read here on yorkie talk that this was a good treat used for training and/or teaching tricks. I had given him a couple of cheerios before with never a problem so I don't think this is what caused his tummy upset.
He is okay now, Thank God.
