I have a boy dog, so I'll weigh in: When we got Logan he had shorter hair. We kept him groomed but we let it grow...and it was getting really REALLY long. Until about a month ago... I was conditioning and brushing him constantly...he looked REALLY gorgeous. BUT... he was starting to smell! It got to the point where I would bathe him and he would be smelling really good... and then a day later he was a stink butt again. Finally, we had to have him cut shorter... not quite a puppy cut. He's still got some length, and I didn't want his "mad scientist" hair/bangs to be gone. Our groomer did a GREAT job.
The long coats are gorgeous, but they're so high-maintenance. Maybe in the winter when we're inside more I will let it grow long again... |
