It's not that they can't have them, but most dog probiotics are formulated with some different strains than human formulations have. Also, sometimes the dog formulations have encapsulated or produced the delivery system in such a way that the probiotics will survive a dog's stomach acidity, which is MUCH higher than a human's. If the probiotics die in the stomach, then they can't populate the small intestine bc they never make it there.
