Maybe bc they are driving shoes. Not meant for walking. I've heard of Minnetonkas before. Haven't tried them yet though. I would think the Frye ones last longer on those square things on the sole. Frye boots last forever! I mean even take forever to break in. I bought my Frye motorcycle boots used and they are still pretty stiff.
