Hi,
My yorkie Codyjames has just been diagnosed with Protein Losing Enteropathy. He had surgery Tuesday and they found his entire gastrointestinal tract affected. I am looking for a diet for this disease. He has had diarrhea since January. His original vet kept trying new diets and then I took him to another vet who said he had diseased intestines and suggested he be scoped. When we arrived at the hospital they did an ultra sound and found some fluid in his abdominal cavity. A very small amount and his albumin levels were normal so they did not think it was PLE. They opted for surgery and the biospy came back as Protein Losing Enteropathy. He is on a host of meds and still has diarrhea. I am feeding him boiled chicken and potatoes. He has lost about 2 pounds so far. Luckily is was a little overweight. I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction.
