I don't have pet insurance. All I can tell you is that if you are going to get it you need to get the policy immediately when you get the puppy. And generally genetic stuff is not covered.

I subscribe to the WDJ. I love it. January's issue was an article on canned/wet foods and how to communicate with your dog (body language), February was dry foods and target training. I haven't read March's yet but the articles are Cancer prevention, teaching "Stay" and more. It has really good articles on training and little things like book recommendations, etc. It's short because there is no advertising and when you finish reading it you can't wait for more! I have a full subscription where I can read online and I get it mailed to me. It's not a full color magazine like Dog Fancy so you really don't *need* to get it mailed unless you do not have a reliable internet connection. You can just download the PDF and print the issue when it's available.
