The fact is our Laddy is from one of these paper registries that mean nothing. He is the joy of our life but I would Never and I stress Never recommend anyone buy from his breeder. I thought about breeding once, Thank God I found YT and people who knew more than I could ever hope to learn about breeding and made me think twice. I am hoping that it will make you also. If you honestly care anything for our breed and you sincerely want to do it for all the right reasons then you should spay and neuter these pups you now have, then start attending shows, get to know some good show breeders, and find yourself a mentor who can teach you how good breeding is really done. All this cross breeding and "I don't care because I am american and can do as I please" attitudes are slowly killing of what is the true yorkshire terrier. I have one who is real beauty and everything I wanted in a yorkie and then there is Laddy whom we call our heart dog, whos coat has been giving us fits for 2 years. He chews on it and ruins it no matter what we try. I personally think it is do to the inbreeding in his lines. He is the product of a father daughter breeding.
If you truly love the breed and are not in it for money please research more and do it for all the right reasons with the right dogs and the right testing to save all the rest of us from the heartache of sick illbred puppies. |
