Thanks to you all...I do feel better but I still feel like I got mugged. I am going to discuss the ear swab with him cause I am sure there is no prob with her ear. What was on the Qtip was the oil from the ear cleaner I used just before leaving the house to go to the Vet. It was not totally wiped off her ear. So I am not going to give her any of the medication and that I can return but I also expect the VET to know the diff between an ear that needs to be treated and an ear that just has some of the liquid ear cleaner in it.
But yes as they get older we do need more reassurance that they are not coming down with something we could have prevented so I am not too upset over Pucci's eye exam...even though that cost around $100 total, lol.
