Well, Tatiana ate something that didn't agree with her. She started not feeling well early Sunday morning. She vomited and wouldn't eat and just wanted me to hold her & sleep. In the afternoon, the diarrhea started.....watery diarrhea! I called the vet to see if I should bring her in or what to do. Basically kept her hydrated til morning & then since she was still having diarrhea, I took her in for a check.
She was checked out and hydrated with fluids & nausea medication. She also came home on antibiotics for the next 10 days. Her weight was 2.2....a couple ounce less than she was last week. I took a stool sample as I thought she had blood in her feces....which she did because of all the irritation from the diarrhea!
A similar experience happened to Teeka about 6 weeks ago....she ate something that did not agree with her. She also threw up last night and had a loose stool! I don't know what caused her to vomit......something she found outside......her vomit had black flecks or particles and was gray in color....really gross!
The vet says they both have very sensitive systems! So my question....how do I know what is going to upset their systems? I know my outside dogs food is not good for them. Even when I am right there, they seem to find something to eat off the ground! How ever am I to keep them from eating junk off the ground!
Sorry this is so long. It really worries me that they are eating junk that is making them so sick!!! I don't expect an answer to this problem....I just needed to get this off my chest!
