She is 5 pounds at seven months, so not really small. I talked to the Vet just now. She told me they will give her something for pain right before they close that will pretty much have her sleeping through the entire night. She said if I insisted I could take her home and bring her back first thing in the morning, but that the ride home right after surgery was not advisable. They operate at 8:00 a.m., so it seems to me that picking her up at 6:00 p.m. would be sufficient time since surgery. She said it was best to not move her until after she was checked out the next morning.

I did ask about the IV fluids and she said they would not have her on IV fluids during the night. She said she would have water. I said but what if she doesn't drink. She said she would be fine for that period even if she didn't.

I just want my baby home with me and not in some cold, dark place being scared and alone.
