I feel I should clarify my post...What someone terms as bashing can also be looked at as "educating" ....In no way in my earlier post did I bash a breeder or intend to sound rude. I wish I knew the things I now know about buying a yorkie back when I was looking for my oldest Chanel - I wouldn't trade her for the world but I now know she came from a pretty bad breeder and when we post in these threads - it's to HELP the next person looking for a good breeder and sometimes sharing what we know can really help someone.
I did state that that most Ethical Breeders don't use the word Teacup...which is true.
Even the breeder I got my own Chanel from started using the word Teacup and more than doubled her prices because of it.....
I guess it's all in how much you trust the breeder that counts... but many times the word Teacup is used to charge higher prices and the prices of yorkies are skyrocketing because of the Tiny Dog Fad...
I just wanted to say that because after 3 years of watching prices of yorkies on the net - they have doubled and tripled in price lately... and many of the higher prices are coming from the use of the Word "Teacup"
I mean no offense here - it's an opinion and I'm only posting to help someone in their search for a new yorkie. We ALL want great yorkies at a FAIR price and for someone new to the Yorkie world - they may not know what commands thousands of dollars vs the average price. |
