That is an individualized thought process....At this time (I work full time too), I will not have more than two litters on the ground at the same time because I personally do not want to get so overwhelmed with puppy care that someone gets ignored or even less attention than anyone else. I also plan for "worse case scenerios"....I do not want more babies on the ground at the same time that I can financially take care of in the event of a major complication or illness. After I retire in October, I will be able to comfortably add perhaps a litter or two, for a total of 3-4 litters per year. It also works better for me if my ladies are bred so that they whelp about 4-6 weeks behind each other....that gives the first litter time to get a little age on them before the next enfants are born....everyone does this differently, according to their own circumstances and situations. |
