There is zero difference. No such thing as a 'one year' vs. a 'three year' vaccine. It's all just terminology.
But legally speaking, pups get a rabies vaxx around 4-6 months and then need another one a year later. THEN after that, it's every 3 years (in most states).
Rabies is the only vaccine required by law. All others are technically optional. But I'd never skip distemper and parvo for young pups and I like to booster again at a year old. After that, I'm personally not worried about getting anymore. Jackson will be 5 in October and hasn't had DHPP since he was 1. We are very active, too, go to dog parks, state parks, hiking, etc. He is protected enough from his previous vaccines and research is proving this over and over again.
I refuse to do bordatella anymore. Jackson has had the instranasal one 3x now (for various reasons) and he's either gotten kennel cough from it, or gotten it while the vaccine was supposedly 'protecting' him from it. Completely done with bordatella.
