If the vet thought it could ge a torn CCL more should have done to confirm that (xray is never a bad idea). if vet thought it was CCL then more is required than glucosamine.


You also might consider getting a referral to see an orthopedic specialist. When Toki was maybe 10 months (I can't remember exactly) she had started skipping and holding her left leg up. She had been diagnosed with Legg Perthes (confirmed with an x-ray...a physical exam can often point in the right direction but won't necessarily confirm a diagnosis) as well as LP maybe 1 1/2 months earlier so that's when we knew it was time to start considering surgery. And a second opinion for the LP wouldn't be a bad idea...my general vet and the orthopedic specialist graded Toki's LP and came to different results (not drastically different but still not the same). So I'd definitely at the very least get an x-ray on the hips/knees and have another set of hands check out the knees again.
