Question drops for cataracts?

My foster Sophie, is a sweet little 5 year old.puppy mill surviver. Unfortunately she has a pretty bad cataract in the left eye and now her right eye seems to be getting cloudy. I would love to have surgery for her but our rescue doesn't have that kind of money. I've been a nurse for many years but haven't touched an adult in 25+ years so remember little about cataracts. I have read that it can become very painful and result in the removal of the eye. I would also like to preserve the sight in her remaining eye. Yesterday one of the bet techs gave me the name of an eye drop, ocuv? The vet said it has very good results. The tech said its expensive but it works. The vial of drops is $160, which I can probably do for a while, but if I can get the name and it is also a human med I can get a doc at work to write a prescription and only pay $5, my copayment. So the point of my rambling is does anyone know the medicine she is talking about? Do you have any experience with it?I'm working this weekend and would like to get it started as soon as possible instead of waiting until monday at the vets, not to mention saving a lot of money, since I think this will be a lifetime med. Thanks
