 My pup has demodex I think? Or maybe something worse??
We took her to the vet for bloodwork for a dna test and they thought she mite have demodex and to keep a close eye on her for change. However since I was already there I told then just to test her instead of me coming back in another week. It turned out she did have it. So they put her on a shampoo for it that I was supposed to use on her 3 times a week for a month. After week one I noticed Minnie looked off. She had a red rash lol over her and the demodex was made worse. It turned out she had an allergic reaction to the shampoo. They then put her on a pill to take care of the reaction which did work however caused her to have a bacterial infection. Then another pill was given which did work as well. Now for the demodex they put her on a pill for it that she's been in for a few weeks now and I don't see a change at all if anything it's worse. She's losing alot if hair and not like normal puppy hair loss. Her feet are pretty much dry baldness and as well as the rest of her has flakes sll over snd I noticed a bald spot on her back. I took her to the vet last week cuz I was concerned that there was no change and she's still itching alot and they said with her size and the doseage she needs she really only started the correct doseage the other day and after that I should start working. Does this sound like demodex or do you think it mite be something else?? |
