I have been told that the crate needs to be big enough just for them to be able to turn around in. I had no luck with the crate training when I first brought Misti home. She pee'd and pooed in it while I was gone which made me very upset to walk in the door and have to clean her and the crate. MOST dogs won't do their business in the crate cause they consider it their den, but I guess Misti was one of the few that didn't give a crap litterally. I hope you have better luck than I did.
