Hydration, hydration, hydration. I can't stress that enough!! IV fluids are best, subcutaneous can help, an are less expensive but are not as good as IV. Anti nausea medicine will help too.

Know it can get costly!! It cost us upwards of 7500.00 to keep Noah alive. I went everyday I could and sat with him and talked to him and tucked him in my shirt and danced with him.... Skin to skin contact works for preemie babies, so I tried it with him.

Insist on a probiotic and blood counts. Watch the white blood cells. If needed, do a transfusion. Pray long and hard about this because like I said, it can get expensive to treat. You have to be committed to the care and treatment as well as the cost. I had 24 hour ICU vet care.

You need to treat your house is you have other dogs, as well as your yard with bleach. Keep any other dogs away from your dog until the virus is shed (2-4 weeks).

Message me if you need to.
Great advice from someone who has been there! It's a huge battle that CAN be won!

Michele, I was under the impression that bleach will not kill the virus. Is that true?
