Someone asked me to take over the care/ownership of a larger breed dog. I was surely up for the task but after feeling in my gut it wasn't right, I'm making the decision to say that they try to find another home. It's not a popular decision by any means, because I wanted to and even committed to helping the family out and even told my daughter that we would have another dog in a few days.

But the idea to take on rehome with out much history on the animal so fast, seems like it will be unfair to all involved.
I fully understand where you are coming from. It took us 5 years to get another dog after our lab mutt died, so you do what you need to do. People who haven't lost a dog that was like family won't understand, but you know the folks here will. Whether you still have a yorkie or not, of course you still belong.
