Welcome to YT! I have always fed kibble, so I will leave the dietary questions to others with more knowledge. Yes, a harness is a must due to the possibility of collapsed trachea. My Huey is not food motivated, but he is very treat motivated. Good treats are carrots & frozen green beans and he loves them. I have also heard frozen blueberries are good, but I haven't tried them yet. We also love the occasional piece of peeled apple or bite of banana, and of course, CHEESE! Cheese must be in small quantities, but Huey is a cheeseaholic and will steal and eat a whole plate of it if left within reach.
Yorkies not only have selective hearing, they are very smart and devious, but always entertaining. You can look forward to years of entertainment and love. Congrats on your new furbaby, however he came into your lives!
