I read some where that yorkies are suppose to eat 3 times a day at a cup total for the day with all those feedings added up. Is this correct?

Joeys 11wks and he only wants to eat in the morning and evening when our westie scruffy does. He maybe eats a total for the day 1/2-3/4 cup. Is this normal? Or should I keep trying that third feeding that he turns his nose up too?
