If he stop eating and appears to be in pain then I will say good bye to him. This is something I will have to do because it would just be too hard on my wife.
Hope this don't sound wrong but if that times comes and we decide to have him put to sleep, wonder if the Vet will let me hold him while they do it. I really do not want him to be alone with just a stranger and I will have a HARD time with that but would want to be there for him as he has always been there for us. |
For sure, also some vets allow in home euthanasia. We had wanted this for our Zoey, because she would be at home, surrounded by all our pets, and they would know that she had passed.
We did not get to do that, but still we had a beautifull morning together, until it was time to go to the vets.
You can bring a blankie from home, or her bed with you to the vets if you elect to go there. Because our Zoey was a very big dog, we laid our family blanket on the floor and she did have her head in my lap.
