I've read before how many people won't leave abusive homes bc they don't want to leave their furkids behind - both bc they consider them their kids, and/or bc they're terribly worried the abuser will hurt the animals

I love it that shelters have been starting to support pets. Also, some will help victims find a foster for their pet if the the shelter doesn't take them on.
