For my young puppies I put their dry food in a small double sided bowl like you can buy at Wal-mart. If you are mixing dry with a little canned food then I recommend a small saucer or plate. For me Corelle plates work good.
Over the years I have had some yorkies that take great pleasure in playing with their food bowl so for some of mine I use heavier bowls that are not easy to tip over and they don't have a 'lip' for the pups to get hold of.
