Why People pay for a stud. A stud should have an impeccable pedigree. Your Vet and the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America can tell you what tests your little male should have before he is bred. Does your dog do AKC shows or competitions ? Does he have champion points ? A intact fertile male does not = a stud dog.
If you want to know if your dog is stud worthy, go to shows, talk and listen to breeders. Get an honest appraisal from them, on how your boy compares to other studs. Excellent health, good lines, teeth, ear set, show type coat with good pure colors, carriage, size and personality are all important. Best wishes and good luck.
