I did not suggest radiation because of my personal experience. I know we are talking about a dog, but I recently completed radiation treatments and because the margins were "close" I had to have extra treatments. I was not advised of this until it was time for the extra treatments...needless to say I was not happy. They said that most people opt for the treatments, so they don't offer a surgical option....but that they will in the future. While it will not change anything for me, I am glad I spoke up. I would honestly rather have had the surgery. If I had a choice for one of my pups, I would choose the surgery as opposed to the radiation....there are side effects to it and while I realize there are risks with everything, I just would prefer the surgical option.

Again, I would go for a second opinion; and agree with Gemy that it would be a cancer specialist.
