I totally believe you about the "breeder" (probably a broker) being unprofessional. Less than 5 secs looking at that site I already saw typos. "Tea cup yorkies fo sale" LOL. Fo sho.

Oh to answer your question, is this legal? Unfortunately it is, selling over the internet. But if they are not paying taxes, that is illegal.
capt_noonie, my gf was going for the cuteness. My thing with Yorkies is in the past I always looked for breeders who did what is "best for the breed" and these little toy dogs are just wrong. They don't even look healthy or happy.

We got a little Yorkie angel some months ago. She is tiny too (not bred as a toy, just was small!), maybe will top out at 3 lbs, but the breeder (she actually shows dogs, not in it for breeding money) chose US. We found her, but the breeder made damn sure that we were right for the dog. It took months from the time we chose our dog to the time we actually got her.

And she is not breeding for size. She is breeding for proper Yorkies and the small ones she "might" let go to good homes. At her discretion. Tons of respect for that.

It is a shame what these toy breeders are doing is legal. They are purely in it for the money, not what is best for the breed or the puppies they are selling.

We took 6-8 months finding our puppy, and it was really eye opening what is going on out there. Some of the "breeders" we dealt with...it was heartbreaking.
