Animal Smiley 049 Too early to switch our puppy to adult food?

Greetings fellow Yorkie lovers!

I have a 9 year old Yorkie who is on Innova Small Bites for Adults kibbles. She loves them, and most importantly this dog is extremely healthy. We just got her checked and she is in perfect health. I contribute that to the food she is eating.

My girlfriend recently got a Yorkie (about 8 months old now) who the breeder put on a Eukanuba food for small breed puppies. (the exact name escapes me, sorry). The vet suggested to keep her on this food because she is a puppy, and very small. She was about 1.6 lbs when we got her.

HERE is the dilemma we face! The puppy will eat the Eukanuba food if she has to. They are tiny kibbles, and we find that we have to coax her to eat them and she has a hard time holding weight.

Fast forward to Innova. The puppy goes absolutely nuts over these. If she could do cartwheels, she would I guarantee it.

My dilemma is this. The health of this puppy is so important. I want a full life, and a happy one for her. She is special as she is very tiny and may top out at 3lbs. Maybe. So diet will be crucial.

I would like opinions from the community on the good/bad of switching her over to Innova for small bites for Adults. They do not upset her stomach, her stools are beautiful, and most of all she loves eating them.

I know protein is very important for a puppy but in your opinion(s) would Innova provide enough for her?

And I would prefer to keep puppy on Innova as it has served my 9 year old so well. I strongly believe my dog will live for 6+ more years primarily because of that food (and no human food).

Thanks for your opinions and thoughts! And our little puppy hopes you provide her with good news and tell us to switch her over!
