There are many, many risks to a female when breeding. I do believe she is going to be too small to breed. CKC (Canadian Kennel Club is equivalent to AKC in Canada) However, in the US, there is also a Continental Kennel Club (CKC) and is a terrible registration, and only used by puppy mills when AKC has suspended them, or they don't follow AKC standards. And No, you can't move the CKC (Continental) to AKC. I suspect yours came from the latter and not Canada.
Breeding takes years of research online, Vets, Seminars, books, and Mentors. You MUST know the genetics and health in the background of your female, as well as any male you want to use. They both need to be health tested as to not carry health problems on to your puppies, which is not always done by breeders and why Yorkies have so many health problems.
Your research is a little off, as the Yorkie IS a Toy Breed. I think what you're thinking of is that she are not.. a "teacup". A Yorkie is a Yorkie, some are just smaller or larger than others. But we try for the standard of under 7 lbs.
There are many dangers to females in breeding. The can go low on Calcium and die, Leave a puppy in and you miss it and die, puppy too big to get out and you're slow getting to the Vet and die, having C-sections and die, infections and die, low sugar from not eating and die, unknown health problems that didn't show up until pregnant and die, etc. etc. etc.
As for picking out a male, you breed the very best quality you can afford with healthy backgrounds as well as your female. After health testing, and researching pedigrees and health, then you pick out a male that would improve the lines.
Breeding is much, much more than putting 2 dogs together. Reputable breeders try to improve the breed, not just make puppies!
