If she is 2 pounds now at 5 months, she will never be of breeding size. Good breeders don't breed dogs under 5 pounds and many say 6. The problem with breeding a tiny, is that they often just have one, and the one grows to be too big for her to have naturally. The weight of pregnancy on a tinie’s bones is too hard and they can develop severe knee problems. Unless you know her line and the males line, she or he could be the runt of the litter and will reproduce a much larger dog, which again could be very dangerous for her, even if she were normal size. A good breeder knows the lines for at least 5 generations, so that there aren’t any surprises. The term “toy” is a term used for certain breeds where the breed standard is under 7 pounds, the Yorkie is a toy breed, even though some dogs are larger than standard, they are still considered a toy. What you may be thinking is a “teacup” and some breeders use that to mean toy and some breeders use it to mean less than 4 pounds, there really is no official definition for it, that's why people say there is no such thing. Please have her fixed, and keep her away from male dogs, diapers and belly bands don’t work and even a young male puppy can impregnate a female, it can literally happen in seconds, and it’s dangerous to pull them apart. Your little girl is so prescious, please treat her like the little diva she is and don't make her become a breeder.
