Yes, I can agree that YTCA members are more likely to be reputable, but I know a few excellent ones who aren't members for various reasons--it takes YEARS of association with club members to get in and more years to get listed in the directory. Some of us who aren't politically inclined don't have time to jockey to get in there.
If you like a breeder who isn't a member, ask him/her why and go from there.
