Rufus doesn't have droopy ears but I was googleing and found a couple of pictures of biewers with droopy ears.
I find that if the hair is kept short, you can see the shape of the ear and it gives them more of a yorkie look.

Wallee is adorable Biewer.
I was thinking how Woodrow from Heartland has his ears. They are basically yorkie cut without his ear standing. I think that might help.
The Shih Tzu thing. Galen's ears were always up and people ask is he Shorkie
I still give them the Biewer speech. I too thought about a business card with the information to hand them lol at least I don't feel as nutty now
