So about 5-8 cheerios daily (I break them into tiny pieces)

I am feeding him Orijen and I also want to know if this is too much protein for him. The breeder fed him Life's Abundance and I tried switching to Blue Buffalo but he wont touch it. He loves Orijen but now I've been reading it has too much protein ... I'd hate to change his food again, he's so picky, I was happy to find something he likes.
Hi, I've been free-feeding Bella, and I thought she was overweight too, until after her first groom and I realized that what I thought was baby fat was actually puffy puppy coat. 2.1 pounds is not overweight by any means--Bella weighed 3 pounds at 12 weeks. And the number of calories in 5-8 cheerios is insignificant. Orijen is a very good food, and as long as Bentley is healthy and happy, he should be fine.
