Happy 1 year birthday to my Blazer!!!! Wow, to think it was already a year ago that I delivered him and his litter mates. I can just imagine having lost all of them if I hadn't been there to pull him out. He was the first born, breech, and mama was starting to chew on the cord while he was still halfway in. The next pup was the only female of the litter and she was a breeze. #3 was the runt and a trouble maker- I worked on him through the births of the next two pups, both big boys who came with no problem. Then we took a break to eat while mama rested but I didn't feel as though she was done so I went to check on her. I turned the corner, she lifted her tail and her water broke in a huge gush and out slid puppy #6. 6 pups in just over two hours. All healthy and gorgeous- 3 brown and 3 black.
I've been with Blazer all but four days of his entire life so far. He's a challenge at times but mainly a joy. My husband, who swore up and down that I wouldn't take the pup, has fallen in love and gets jealous on those rare times when Blazer chooses me over him.
