to them, i suposse $ > preserving culture, sad as it is. you even see this happening in cities all across the US, gentrification taking over under the guise of "revitalization".

ETA - i've never been to NO, but have always wanted to. however, i wonder if it will be worth even going anymore, since as you pointed out, things will be much different, and not in a good way.
