That's what I find fishy about rehoming a dog ... If it is a rescue where they have been pouring money into keeping up a dog (well, many dogs actually!) and helping find them a furever home, that's one thing ... People demanding so much money to rehome a dog I think is just wrong. Like they deserve to get compensation for taking care of a dog that they took on to give a home for the rest of their lives. I understand if you have to give up a dog because of health issues and / or if you are just absolutely incapable of keeping / taking care of them anymore and do it for the well - being of your animal, but I don't think that people should ask that much and if they really care about the well - being of their fur baby, shouldn't they be focusing their energy more on screening adopter hopefuls and making sure they go to a great home instead of making a few hundred dollars? Not trying to sound like a butt, but it just seems like it's a way to make a quick buck for people, and that I don't like.
