Confused Help! Maggie's Getting a Sister

Good afternoon, and thanks for letting me be a part of your community. (I found you through a Google search...looking for somewhere to ask a group of Yorkie Experts a question I have).

Maggie is the Love of my LIFE! She is an almost 4 year old Yorkie girl...and without a question is the one dog for which I have waited all my life! (I remember being around 10 the first time I heard of Yorkies and decided that that was the one dog I truly wanted.) Perhaps it goes without saying that Maggie might be just a titch on the spoiled side. She does love me, and is really a bit possessive of me (as in when I dare to go near another dog).

Well, anyway, I thought it would be a good idea to get Maggie a playmate around her own size (so that I could stop being the one to play chase around the furniture with her). Actually this has been under contemplation for nearly a year, and under serious thought for about six months. About 4 months ago I contacted the breeder from whom I got Maggie (Why mess with a good thing?), who recently got back in touch advising that she has Maggie's half sister (same dad) for sale. Originally she was going to try to show this dog, but feels she might be just a bit too small, with a bit too short a back.

Anyway, Molly will be joining us at our home on Friday next. (I am soooooo excited....just like a new parent, I think). My worry is about how Maggie is going to cope with this. I'm prepared (I think) for her to be a bit jealous at first, and am fully prepared to smother her with all the love and devotion she needs. (She is, and always, will be "First Yorkie"!) Heck, I've even arranged for a week of vacation after I pick up Molly to help ease the two of them through the transition.

I know they'll be safe in the daytime, even when I am at work, as I've always crated Maggie days (out of fear she might push one of the cats too far and get herself seriously in trouble...plus it's way easier on the potty issue). Mollie will have an adjoining crate, so they can see one another but not get at one another, should that be an issue.

Anyone else ever add a sibling to the household (with a very possessive little girl)? Any problems I should watch for? I mean, Maggie won't get violent or anything, will she? (I would note that she's never bitten anyone or anything...and we do share the house with two cats). BTW, Maggie weighs in at a whomping 4.5 pounds. Molly, who is presently 4 months old just passed 2 pounds, but is expected to grow to be around Maggie size when full grown.

OK, OK. I know it's silly. I'm REALLY looking forward to getting Molly, but really worried Maggie is going to hate me forever!!!!!!!!!!!
