I post on a lot of forums and many of them will merge a topic if a new post has been started when there has already been a post on that topic, so I know a lot of forum posters (across the whole internet) are wary of starting new threads for fear of being told off. In a lot of forums starting a new post when one already exists for that topic is frowned upon.
I found this forum and I'm sure many other who post here now by google searching a topic and then finding an old post here jam packed full of information and then lept on in and posted to ask for an update or further information.
