It is hard! I have lovely neighbors but one has 3 small children and never would trust her to open the door to this house and be able to curtail Tibbe if he decided to bolt the door because I wasn't here. And with those 3 little kids, she could leave them to run after him. And they could hurt him if he didn't bolt. They don't have a dog and probably have little understanding of how to handle a Yorkie. My other neighbor is the one with the two Corgis and I just don't know for sure about her ability to keep Tibbe safe. My neighbor across the street could have carefully cared for him but she died. It's hard when your dog is a small little dog who is high-maintenance and apt to do anything when you are not around.
