I think you're talking about Seborrhea? It's almost always associated w/ dry flakey skin sometimes oily greasy skin & the oil ducts can produce a fowl smell & can get plugged which can become folliculitis. Dog Folliculitis Symptoms, Causes, and Treatments. In mild folliculitis you typically will find many small pustules with a hair shaft protruding through the center of each. Dogs with mild cases may have rings of scales around the follicles.
Does Uni have flakey oily skin? If not, maybe this isn't it & I need to stop googling loll. |
Results came back already, and it's benign. The vet said it was a follicle infection that hardened.
However Uni does not have greasy skin, although it is dry at times. Last year or so I brought Uni in for a flea allergy, and I put coconut oil on her hot spots. The vet mentioned her looking greasy and asked if that was natural or I put something on her. I supposed she was wondering if she had Seborrhea. The shampoo she's on is for itchiness but not pore clearing.
