It took 3-4 days before my male stopped peeing in his belly band. I shave his tummy up to his front legs, and gather the sides of his full coat up before I put the band on him. This minimizes the mess. I use baby wipes to clean the tummy and hair in between baths, then once he learns not to pee, he gets a good bath. I would have bathed him more often, but it was chill here and he is ancient.
They make a whitening shampoo for white/light coats, but do not get it on the darker hair!
Or crate train him, or a small room confinement. Has he always done this? I would also suggest taking him out for longer periods (if this is not the case), to allow him to pee as much as possible (empty him out), before bringing him back in.
