Interesting dilemma. I should be seeing my trainer this afternoon and I will ask her about this.

One immediate thought I had was is it possible now with the nice weather to spend several hours outside with him? I was thinking in the backyard with you while you are gardening or reading a book or what-ever? Observe how often he needs to urinate when he has free access to go as often as he likes?

Has he been neutered and if so at what age? There are some dogs who have what is termed spay incontinence. Is this what your vet thinks?

In terms of belly bands, they have to be changed often in order for the urine not to stain the hair. Also males that mark or females for that matter, the marking is a much deeper color than the urine is.
