Worrying about what may have caused something is fruitless in my opinion. The bottom line you need a diagnosis. I DO think you need to be insistent about this neck issue. I am less concerned with GME as it does not wax and wane with positioning which is what it sounds like is happening which would make me more concerned about AAI. I am NOT a vet and only a pet owner, but your description is very worrisome based upon my knowledge and experience with issues with pups. I have serious concerns here ... you do have a facility in your area. I had looked the other day....it does not have to be a teaching school...if you don't have one close just get to a board certified specialist.
