I wish I knew the answer for you... I moved with my boys, but it was into my boyfriends house after 3 years of dating, so they were already familiar with the territory.

I would move and keep them out of the commotion and then take them home where their 'stuff' is all set up and waiting, walk them through with a leash (so they don't mark) and show them their new home. I think for the most part, as long as you are there, they will adjust to any living arrangement. Thats how my boys are anyways! Good Luck!!!
