I did buy a hydrocephalic poodle puppy when I was much younger and dumber, a puppy who did have the head size of those pictures but not the huge eyes or button nose and teeny muzzle. Her head was so huge that when I got her home that night she occasionally tipped forward when she tried to put her head down to drink, though she refused food. I had to put water-thinned food in her mouth that night. She became unresponsive the next day and the vet gave her maybe 12 - 24 hours to live, said she could not be saved, was in terrible pain, recommended euthanasia. Furious, he called the breeder to ask her why she would sell such an ill animal. The breeder demanded through him that I bring him back so she could take her to a "real" vet. I did, right then. I was crying and furious, the breeder aloof and cold. I hoped she did get her some help but fear that that little dog died just like my vet said she would. He said it was one of the worst cases of hydrocephaly he'd ever seen and that her death was certain. He didn't need to tell me to never ever buy another dog with an over-large head like that but he did! It was the saddest dog-purchase experience of my life. A darling little puppy like that so deathly ill and still her breeder took $$$ for her and watched us leave her home, knowing that baby was close to death. And this woman made you take off your shoes and wash your hands, wear gloves to hold her poor puppies - a total sham pretense that she cared about her dogs! |
People are just sick

The lady we got our Sassy from , we found out months later, had been told about many sick pups & denied any of her pups had ever had a problem. Needless to say , she lied & knew she was breeding this condition in her lines & to make matters worse, after Sassy passed I found out that my neighbor bought what she called a Munchkin (yorkie/shihtzu) & on the yorkie side her great grandfather was my sassys father who I believe was the carrier. My neighbors pup was PTS at 2 yrs as she also had Chiari. My Sassy was not big eyed when she came home but by 3 she was & I have since seen many puppies from this evil woman & they greatly resemble the pups in the pics & videos. The woman died 2 yrs ago BUT now her daughter has all of her dogs & she IS breeding them

So the line goes on & many more pups will be diagnosed with Chiari & suffer
