Hi there,
I used to have an account under this forum but can't for the life of me remember my username.
I have a 5 yr old Yorkie and recently lost a baby pup last year

After letting time pass to heal our hearts and doing what I thought was thorough research we found a breeder near Fairfield to go with. Our precious pup who passed was bought through a private seller and this time around we wanted to go the proper way and go through a reputable breeder!
TinyYorkieKisses was so disappointing. When we walked in we saw that the puppies were kept in pens secluded off to a room by themselves. They were standing in their own pee and poo. Mama and daddy were not on site. It didn't look like they were able to roam around the house. We ended up not leaving with a dog which was for the best. The pup that we came there to see she had already sold by the time we got there.
Am I looking for too much in a breeder? Is it normal to have lots of pups on site and to have them penned off by themselves w/mom and dad off-site?
One final question, any tips on how I can find a good, reputable breeder? I've checked online but half of them just scream "scam!" to me.
Any insight is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
