I gave him this stuff called a/d that the vet gave him and in one day he only ate a tablespoon of that. When I took him to the vet they told me he had very low blood sugar. She put him on an IV, will give him glucose and something to help stop the nausea. I feel so terrible that I started to cry. I've had him 3 days and I already love him so much. I feel like no matter what I do I can't get him to eat. The vet told me that he will be okay but I'm just emotional thinking about it. The vet told me to leave him at the vets office for a few hours so she can monitor him and then he can most likely come back home today.
If you guys could keep him in your prayers it would mean so much to me. She said he will be fine and I am ready to bust open a cookbook to make him eat anything he wants. I'm going to give him rice and chicken when he comes home to help with the loose stools and nausea. He's so little and has such a bad combination of symptoms. I'll keep you guys updated. |
Did the vet check a stool sample? There is a certain parasite that can cause a puppy to lose all appetite. It is really important that your baby be checked for it.Sometimes the first symptoms of this can be appetite loss. I hope your vet did the proper tests because if he does have giardia it is imperative that he be treated for it or he will not start to eat for you.
