I have 2 girls....one is 10 months and 1 is 5 months. The oldest is outside potty trained and it took me 8 months to get her trained! The 5 month old is already potty trained! I pad trained her and then when the weather warmed, I started taking her outside to potty, too! She was so easy to train! I think it is because she has her pad to go to if I am busy and don't see her at the door wanting to go out. So if I was to do it all over again, I would pad train first....besides when you need to take them potty during the night or when it is raining, it is so nice to have the inside pad! Tatiana just turned 5 months today and hasn't had an accident in 2 weeks!
I hope this encourages you to do what ever is easiest for your situation. Take them potty after naps, after eating and before bed.....keeping a schedule is best and they seem to learn more quickly!
